It's Friday and I...

... am taking it off for a photo shoot in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness!
... just want everyone to know that it's not a 'career move', but that I truly support this cause from the bottom of my heart and if I can raise money to pay for the operations (to remove the cancer tissue in breasts before it spreads to other parts in the body) just by taking my top off, then I'll do it! Screw those who believe otherwise.
... know my decision has created some controversy, but my mind's made up!
... am looking forward to working with Naco Rautenbach (photographer) and Michelle Dickman (make-up artist) again!
... decided on a forest for the shoot, seeing that the Breast Cancer Association gave me free range.
... am in a small fashion show tomorrow! Kinda excited. It's been ages since I last walked the ramp.
... will be in the Rapport newspaper again on Sunday, along with two other hopefuls who won in previous weeks, with voting details. Please vote for me! The winner will be 'Miss June' in their 2012 calendar.
... can also be voted for in the FHM 100 Sexiest, by sms'ing SEXY YOLANDI MALHERBE to 34973. Just by voting, you stand in line to win some fab prizes!
... have two blog posts coming soon! One about the KFM Kday (rather late than never) and the other about our cooking lesson with chef, Neill Anthony.
... have my money on the Stormers tomorrow. They are playing at Newlands against the Western Force. I will be watching the game at Newlands in the Evox Box.
... did an interview with MojoDojo earlier this week. Have a look here if you haven't seen it yet. New photos of me are also in their site, plus a free wallpaper which you can download in high-res. From me, with love.
... am going to try and gym tonight. Yes, it seems this socialite is calming down, but don't get too use to it!

Happy Friday! Jeez, can't believe the week went by so quick!

Tickled Pink for Rugby!

Whooo what a hectic couple of days! Planning a photo shoot, squeezing in music videos, spending time with friends and then trying to support the on-again-off-again boyfriend's rugby. So, Saturday I took the girls and we were dressed in pink to support the Boland Cavaliers when they played against the Stormers at Newlands. Though Boland did get their asses whipped really bad (36-6), that didn't stop us girls from having a lot of fun! Even if I don't completely understand rugby, I sure enjoyed the view. Beef Fest anyone?

Mnet and SuperSport were there to catch all the action.

We were taken inside for a tour to see how the production team puts everything together.

Oh, complicated!

The eagle has landed

Boland Cavaliers make their entrance. I love their bus!

We took a stroll before the game started and came across this hobo. I know I shouldn't laugh, but look at his face! I don't know how he does that.

The quintessence of panty-dropper. Damn, I love fast cars.

Ok, so you're probably wondering why I have a picture of Kurt Darren. Well, he's got shares in Boland Cavaliers.  So, he sang during the pre-shows and as I was about to take a picture of him, he grabs my hand and sings to me. Then turns me around for the crowd to see and shoves the mic in my face. Kurt, sorry for not knowing the lyrics to all your songs!

Next thing I know, I'm on the big screen.

Waiting for the game to start!

It was really hard to capture some blur-free action shots!

Thumbs-up indeed, Schalk.

My first live rugby experience wasn't that bad at all. I guess it makes it more interesting when you know half the players...

The Simple Life

I recently endured a 12 hour road trip to the Free State and boy, let me tell you, what awaited me was far worse than the never-ending drive itself! Well, I went, I saw and I survived a small taste of the simple life. Even though the break-away was really nice and everything was a learning expierence, I much rather prefer my glamour-filled city life.
When we stopped for petrol for about the 5th time, I saw these cute lil' horses and ponies.

As you can see, totally bored at this place called Legends...

... but don't they know that Marilyn Monroe is not a legend? She's an icon.

Oh well, ordering some of their 'fine cuisine', nevertheless, while putting on my ilovethisplace face.

The next day we watched athletics at a primary school. Adorable how they cry when they lose.

Later that day I was dragged to watch local rugby matches, which at first I didn't mind, because I thought I'd get front row tickets to, what usually is, a beef fest. Damn, was I wrong. I've learnt enough about rugby the last couple of months to rightfully say it sucked. Bunch of amateurs with skinny legs and love-handles.

Maybe if they spend less time rehearsing war-cries and more time playing rugby, they will do much better on the field.

This is my omgrugbyismyfavouritethingtowatch face.

Definitely the most talented rugby player of the day.

After two hours of torture, I wanted to leave. I felt insulted. So the boyfriend took me to a farm where I drove through corn- and sunflower fields on the back of a bakkie. I sat in a truck that costs more than an SL 65 AMG. I listened to Afrikaans music. I played with children. See, totally out of my comfort zone.

I fell in love with this tractor, the Case Steiger.

The wheels are HUGE

It's operated digitally!

Cute lil' dusty truck!

I also fell in love with this peaceful surroundings.

This was the first time I ever saw Emu birds. I thougth this was baby ostriches!

After all that fresh air, I drank brandy and coke with the men. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!

I needed no convincing when this bottle of Poncho's was brought to the table.

Later that evening we hit the road back home again. We only stopped the next morning at Three Sisters, because I needed some sunlight and caffeine. Never in my life will I drive that far again!

I have to say, every now and then, a trip like this would be really nice. But not longer than a week. I need my cell phone signal, big malls and night life! Next time I'm packing in my khaki and gumboots, and leaving Roberto Cavalli at home.
The simple life, it ain't for me!
