The fascination of Indian audiences with ghosts, spectres and ghouls will now be extended to zombies as two zom-coms -- Saif Ali Khan-produced "Go Goa Gone" and Abhay Deol-starrer "Shaadi of the Dead" -- are set to go on floor at the same time.
"Shor in the City" co-directors Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K.'s "Go Goa Gone" is about a bunch of youngsters out to have fun who get assailed by zombies while "Manorama 6 Feet Under" director Navdeep Singh's 'Shaadi..." is about an attack by zombies while a Punjabi wedding is on.
Both the projects take a lighter look at the cult of zombies.
Interestingly, both the projects want to get on with their respective zombie films on the floor immediately. Each one wants to be the first zombie film to hit the screens.
While Kunal Khemu, who plays the lead in "Go Goa Gone" feigns ignorance of the other project, "Shaadi..." producer Sid Jain says he's aware of the other project.
"More films will help widen the genre, so I'm happy someone else is attempting a zombie film. But I plan to make a series of zombie flicks. In fact, even before "Shaadi..." goes on the floors, we have planned the sequel 'Honeymoon Of The Dead'," he said.
